On April 6, the 2021 Board Meeting (online) of the Confucius Institute jointly established by Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and Ss. Cyril and Methodius University was successfully held. Nikola Jankulovski, Chairman of the Board and President of UKIM, Li Yongqiang, Vice Chairman of the Board and Vice President of SWUFE, and other members of the board attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Nikola Jankulovsk stated that under the pandemic situation, both parties of the Confucius Institute worked closely to maintain the operation of the CI while ensuring people’s health and safety and strengthened further cooperation with the government and businesses. He emphasized that UKIM will continue to support the development of Confucius Institutes and sincerely hoped that the two universities will continue to deepen academic exchanges and cooperation.

Li Yongqiang said that despite the difficulties brought by COVID-19, the two universities kept on communication and cooperation, and successfully completed the transition, which built a solid foundation for further exchanges and cooperation. He thanked UKIM for their efforts and contributions in the past year. He said that the two universities will continue to work closely and fully support the smooth operation of CI, ensuring its all-around, high quality and healthy development.

The board reached consensus and resolution after reviewing the Year 2020 Annual Report, the current work situation, the 2021 Work Plan, faculty recruitment and other related work.
